BRUKER announcement of PATHOS results
Dec. 14, 2020 - PATHOS periodic meeting (remotely by Zoom)
Firenze, Open Positions
As part of this effort, at the University of Florence we are seeking Postdocs in Noise Sensing, who will work on the controlled and optimised manipulation of quantum probes and the analysis of spatial and temporal correlations of environmental noise, respectively. Theoretical physicists trained in quantum information science that are interested in learning spectroscopy and bio-sensing are welcome to apply. And vice versa quantum chemists/physicists trained in spectroscopy that are interested in learning quantum information processing are also welcome to apply.
Position summary
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to 1 year, extendable for other 3 years, starting at any time since Sept. 2020.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- PhD in Physics or equivalent.
- Fluency in English, oral and written; interest and skills in working collaboratively as well as independently.
Experience in one or more of these fields is desired:
- Computational physics, noise spectroscopy, non-Markovian dynamics, and noise correlations.
- Optimal control theory, optimization and machine learning, network theory, quantum information.
- Open Quantum Systems, Entanglement, Coherence theory
- Python and Matlab programming.
The candidate should appreciate also working in projects together with experimentalists.

May 11, 2020 - PATHOS pre-review meeting (remotely by Zoom)
All PIs and Co-PIs in PATHOS have remotely joined a Zoom meeting (due to Covid19 situation) to discuss about the progress of the project and the 1st year results, also in preparation of the annual review meeting.
May 23-24, 2019 - Florence, Italy
PATHOS Partners met at Villa Gioiello (Galilei's House) in Florence, Italy, for the official kick-off of the new H2020 EU FET-OPEN project PATHOS which aims at designing, implementing, experimenting and finding radically new technologies for the sensing of bio-systems and in-vivo diagnostics of biomedical conditions using hitherto unexploited tools of unconventional complex-system dynamical control and information sampling/processing. All PI and Co-PIs presented the first steps to reach these goals. The cooperation within the project was also discussed. In addition there were some presentation on the financial aspects from the coordinator institution administration representatives (Univ. of Florence) and also from some already selected members of PATHOS Advisory Board.
